One of Cameron’s first assignments for a major publication was his 1972 interview with Humble Pie for Creem Magazine. I’ve just added this historical piece to the Written By section. I hope you enjoy it!
I’ve added Cameron’s liner notes from Tom Petty’s Anthology – Through the Years. This is a double CD collection of Tom Petty & The Heartbreaker’s greatest hits.
If you recall, I added Cameron’s liner notes for the KGB fundraiser album Home Grown II back in July 2001. If you liked that, you’re in luck. I’ve just finished transcribing the liner notes for the original Home Grown album. This is the original benefit album sponsored by KGB FM & AM radio in San Diego to support the United Way. All the artists featured were local San Diego musicians with songs about San Diego. Enjoy!
Circular was a promotional magazine that was issued by Warner Bros. and was never sold or made available to the public. The second issue from 1973 features a one page article/interview about Alice Cooper and his new album “Muscle Of Love” (written by Cameron Crowe). It’s been added to the Written By section of the site.
To keep our thoughts on Billy Wilder, here’s a great piece Cameron wrote for the Guardian about Billy Wilder and the making of The Apartment. Enjoy!
As promised, (for a long time now), we present Cameron’s 1986 talk with Tom Cruise from Interview Magazine. He discusses his early film career (Taps, The Outsiders, Risky Business and Top Gun) and his plans for the future.
Here’s a biography that Cameron Crowe did for ’70s superstar Rita Coolidge back in 1978. Rita continues to record and just recently, she performed along side Robbie Robertson at the Opening Ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. By the way, guess who did the logo on Rita’s Official site? Her daughter Casey (mentioned in Crowe’s bio), who was four years old when Cameron did this biography! You can check out Rita’s official site here.
